With its wide stance, single-frame grille and imposing headlamps, the A5 has a classy and powerful look.
But its appeal is more than skin deep.
Powered by a 265-horsepower, 3.2L direct-injection V-6, the A5 generates 243 foot-pound of torque.
Available with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with clutchless shifting, the A5 is also equipped with the quattro all-wheel drive system for superior handling.
And if you want more, the the sporty Audi S5 boasts a 354-horsepower, 4.2L direct-injection V-8, with a sport-tuned suspension.
A new option for both the A5 and S5 is Audi Drive Select a system that allows motorists to customize their driving experience. They can select comfort, auto or dynamic modes to create noticeable changes in the car's responses.
"The A5 can be set to float like a Mercedes, or you can tighten the suspension and steering for a sportier feel," said Joel Proud, sales consultant for Gurley Leep Motor Werks in Mishawaka.
The A5 is well-equipped with leather upholstery, power seats with memory, power heated outside mirrors, a central locking system, three-zone climate control, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, fog lamps, heated windshield washer nozzles, a panoramic sunroof and a multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Additional features include a multimedia interface that controls car and audio functions, an AM/FM six-disc CD changer with auxiliary input jack, Bluetooth hand-free interface, and rain and light sensors that will adjust windshield wipers and headlamps to the situation.
The S5 further adds a sport suspension, upgraded wheels and tires, a rear trunk spoiler, bi-xenon headlamps, headlight washers, heated front seats, an auto-dimming interior mirror and leather sport seats with perforated Alcantara inserts.
Packages and options for the vehicles include technologies such as adaptive cruise control that will adjust to traffic, adaptive headlights that will turn with the car, a side assist system that monitors the blind spot areas, a system that utilizes a rear camera and ultrasonic sensor to aid in parking and a voice controlled navigation system.
"The S5 has been the hottest ticket in town," said Proud. "Until recently, there was limited availability. We're finally getting them."
The Gurley Leep Motor Werks showroom located at 4004 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka, is open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
