2010 XK-Series
Introduction
The new 2010 Jaguar XK combines Jaguar's legendary performance with advanced technologies and sporting luxury to create a grand tourer with the heart and soul of a sports car. The new XK delivers more power, more performance and more technology ? without compromise. It moves the Jaguar sports car experience on to a whole new level. The full XK lineup includes two trim and equipment levels - XK (Coupe and Convertible) and XKR (Coupe and Convertible) - and a total of two engine options.
Exterior Design and Special Features
Exterior changes for the naturally aspirated 2010 Jaguar XK models and the supercharged XKR are highlighted by a distinctive new front end design, new LED rear lights, and a new lower rear body valance. Standard equipment on the base model includes bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition/entry, front and rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and a heated power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats and automatic dual-zone climate control. Bluetooth, a 7-inch touch screen navigation system, soft-grain leather interior, heated leather steering wheel, contrast stitching, satellite radio, USB audio interface and 525-watt Bowers & Wilkins speaker system come standard across the XK model lineup.
Adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control and HD radio are optional on the base model but standard on the XKR which features a supercharged engine, different 19-inch wheels, bigger brakes, and unique interior and exterior trim. Twenty-inch wheels and different interior veneers are optional on both models.
Engine
A 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports coupe, or luxury convertible, the 2010 Jaguar XK is driven by an all new 5.0-liter V8 rated at 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. The 2010 Jaguar XKR is powered by an all new supercharged version of the same engine that pumps out 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. The state-of-the-art all new 6-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift and JaguarDrive Selector delivers a dynamic performance.
The EPA estimates for the base coupe stand at 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway and 16/22 for the base convertible. Both XKR body styles deliver 15/22 city/highway mpg. The key driver aids include front and rear Park Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Adaptive Restraint Technology System.
Safety
Antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, front seat belt pretensioners, front seat whiplash reduction system, ISOFIX anchor points for rear child seats, roll-over protection system (Convertible only) and front-seat side airbags are standard.
